Marissa Dawn McKee is the baker and decorator at Dawn McKee Cakes. She began baking cupcakes for friends’ birthdays in high school and realized that baking is her love language. Her self-taught hobby grew into a talent when she began working at a bakery in college. She was initially hired as an unpaid intern who washed dishes and made icing. Four years later, she ended as the lead cake decorator and manager. It was there, under the mentorship of her talented boss, that she was able to grow her skills and learn the intricacies of running a bakery. 

After leaving the bakery in pursuit of new opportunities, she continued making cakes for friends and family. During those occasional cake orders, she felt the happiest and knew that someday soon, she would have to do this full time again. Finally, the opportunity came to devote herself to making cakes and treats. Dawn McKee Cakes is her sweetest dream and she is so happy to share her passion with you!
